In Wendy Lichtman’s new teen novels, Do the Math: Secrets, Lies and Algebra and The Writing on the Wall, the protagonist is a 13-year-old girl who uses math metaphors to help her navigate the mystery, intrigue, and romance of middle school. Lichtman has written four other novels for young readers, and her personal essays have appeared in the New York Times, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Good Housekeeping and other national publications.
