Seymour Myron “Sy” Hersh
is an American Pulitzer Prize winning investigative
journalist and author. He is a regular contributor to “The
New Yorker” magazine.
His 1970 book “My Lai 4: A Report on the Massacre and Its
Aftermath” earned the Pulitzer Prize and the George Polk
Award. He exposed the massacre in South Vietnam. Hersh
brought it all out in the open and helped end the war as a
result, because Americans realized that this
incomprehensible conflict far away was making their boys act
like Nazis.
In 1977, Hersh wrote about John F. Kennedy; “The Dark Side
of Camelot”. “I think there are great stories to be written
about this pretend government and this corporate world we
now live in”, Hersh said. In 2004, Hersh published a series
of articles which described the treatment of detainees by
U.S. military police at Abu Ghraib, Iraq.
You will either love Hersh or you will hate him; you will
not be passive.
