Elizabeth Edwards
book “Saving Graces”, begins with her discovery of a lump on
her breast at a time of intense stress and anticipation.
Finding a lump while on a public stage placed Elizabeth in a
situation that left her no privacy. How she held up under
such pressure during that period, and the day after the
election when she had her initial surgical testing, is
detailed in the book, with all humor, charm and blunt
honesty.
How she dealt with the death of her oldest son, Wade, is
also revealed in “Saving Graces” and is difficult to read.
Mrs. Edwards says, “I began to develop a love-hate
relationship with the book, due to the raw emotion in that
section, which forced me to put the book down, and then
pulled me to pick it up again”.
